Numerous studies show that music is more than just fun, musical training can change the structure of the brain. Musical training leads to improvements in a wide variety of different skills, including memory, spatial learning, literacy and verbal intelligence.

Children ages 7 – 12 are invited to join Ms. Rachel at The Waterworks, 184 San Marco Blvd (it’s the red brick building right next door to Main Library), for a fun introductory ukulele program! Bring your own ukulele or check out one of ours for this 3-week program. Learn chords, songs, strumming patterns, ukulele fun facts, and beginning improvisation.

Thursdays April 10, April 17, and April 24

Registration is only required if you need to borrow one of the library's ukuleles. Please register each child participating who needs to borrow a ukulele.

If you have any questions, please email Rachel at rbarman@sjcfl.us or call the Main Library at 904-827-6940.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Main Library.

Ukuleles made possible by a grant from IPlay.

The Waterworks is available through the generosity of the City of St. Augustine and the St. Johns Cultural Council.
