Program Description
Event Details
Guided by local artist Tonya McGuire, this plein air workshop presented in partnership with St. Johns County Parks & Recreation Department. It takes place outdoors in the beautiful Riverfront Field at Alpine Groves Park, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the natural scenery of the St. Johns River.
The session will introduce the fundamentals of plein air painting with a focus on observing light, color, and movement in the landscape. Each participant will learn how to translate what they see into quick studies and a small finished work using simple, accessible supplies. The intent is for participants to walk away not only with a piece they created on site, but also with greater confidence in approaching nature as both subject and inspiration.
Registration is required for this event. The registration form can be accessed on the Parks & Recreation website: Catalog - SJC Parks & Recreation Department.
This event was generously funded by the Bartram Trail Branch Friends of the Library.
