Get ready for a paws-itively awesome adventure! In this life-size game, players adopt a pet and dive into the world of pet ownership — with all the fun (and financial responsibility) that comes with it! Players will visit different stations around the room, each one offering unique challenges and opportunities to make financial decisions with the help of a friendly assistant or cashier. You'll spend and earn money as you go, but watch out for surprise events — they might bring in a financial windfall or create an unexpected cost! Keep track of your spending and earnings on your Pet Card with the goal of keeping your pet happy and healthy while holding onto as much of your money as possible before the timer runs out. Will you be the ultimate pet parent? Let the fun (and the financial planning) begin!
Recommended for ages 8–12. The game includes basic reading, writing, addition, and subtraction.
Pet Cents is limited to ten players on a first come, first served basis. If you have any questions, please email Rachel at rbarman@sjcfl.us or call the Main Library at 904-827-6940.
Thinking Money for Kids is an initiative of the American Library Association and the FINRA Investor Education Foundation.
