Event Details
The City of St. Augustine Beach’s Sustainability and Environmental Planning Advisory Committee (SEPAC) invites the public to Explore the Plastic Problem with a Local Expert at the October 23 Environmental Speaker & Film Series.
Our speaker will be Kyle Gerecke from Once Was Lost, an organization that empowers communities with scalable recycling solutions that turn plastic waste into local opportunity. Gerecke will talk about our plastic problem as well as Once Was Lost's goals. He will also field audience questions after a short documentary about plastic.
This series, which started in 2019, focuses on conservation, sustainability, and ecology, particularly our tree canopy, the 4Rs (refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle), coastal issues, and green/Florida-friendly landscaping.
All events are free and take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Anastasia Island Branch Library, 124 Sea Grove Main Street in St. Augustine Beach.
