Downtown St. Augustine Field Trip: History, Mystery & Lunch
Join us for a fun day in St. Augustine! We will kick things off with a visit to the St. Augustine Historical Research Library, where we will learn how writers and historians dig into the past using real archives.
Then we’ll head out on a walking tour of downtown St. Augustine and visit locations from Bloody Sunset in St. Augustine by Nancy Powell and Jim Mast. Afterward, we’ll grab lunch at a local restaurant. You’ll have time to relax, chat about the book, your favorite parts of the day, and enjoy some good food with your fellow adventurers.
Bring: comfy shoes, a notebook, and your copy of Bloody Sunset if you have it!
Parking will be at Trinity Episcopal Church at 2 Artillery Lane for a nominal fee.
Nicloe Diehm is the Head Librarian and Curator at the St. Augustine Historical Research Library. Nicole oversees the Research Library and rotating exhibits. She is also focused on outreach assisting other institutions with their digital projects and collaborating on community projects. She holds an M.A. in History, with a focus on Public History and Archiving, and an M.I.S. in Library and Information Science.
An added bonus of this tour is that the St. Augustine Historical Research Library is the former home of St. Johns County Public Library System.
